PeaceTrees Celebrates Tet with its Kindergartens!

In celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, PeaceTrees Vietnam staff visited 17 kindergartens in Quang Tri and Quang Bình Provinces, delivering goodie bags and red envelopes, lì xì, to students. These visits support our work to maintain our school food program for students attending PeaceTrees kindergartens.

Our school lunch program provides the only reliable source of nutrition for many students. This program aims to combat undernutrition, which is a challenge that affects approximately a quarter of Vietnamese children aged 0-5. By ensuring that students at PeaceTrees kindergartens receive nutritious meals, we take a significant step towards promoting healthy development and helping these young learners to reach their full potential.

The legacy of war continues to impact food security in central Vietnam, as uncleared land is too dangerous for agriculture and threatens the safety of communities. Our work in making Quang Tri and Quang Bình Provinces safer is not only about clearing unexploded ordnance but also about supporting community-led development and agricultural projects. These initiatives are vital for the kindergartens and community centers that not only offer safe spaces for learning but also provide life-saving mine risk education. In the coming year, we are committed to expanding our projects to include clean water access, nutritious food, and economic opportunities, further supporting communities still impacted by war.

Our work to support the health, safety, and food security of young students in Vietnam is only possible through the friendship and generosity of donors like you. Thank you for your support!
