School is back in session! On September 5th, we welcomed students back to our 14 kindergartens in Quang Tri Province Vietnam. We are thrilled to report that two of those kindergartens are new and opened their doors to students for the first time this year! It is with your continued support and generosity that these children are able to have access to early education and developmental programs. Your donations go towards teaching materials, supplies, and many other resources that ensure a safe space for children to play and learn. Your funding also goes towards our highly important Kindergarten food program! All of our kindergarten students receive a nutritious meal that is prepared everyday by their teachers, that includes protein, rice, and vegetables from the local market. Many of the students come from impoverished backgrounds, so these daily meals are not only crucial in providing them with the energy to learn in the classroom, but are also important for their overall growth and development.
We are so happy to see our students back in classes for the 2018-2019 school season! We hope that you will consider donating so that we can give even more children access to a better education and a better future.
PeaceTrees has made a positive impact for the lives of over 325 children in Quang Tri Province because of your support for scholarships! We will be awarding scholarships to more children this month, and there is still time to support a children’s education through our work. Because of your help, each child affected by unexploded ordnance will be able to attend school during the 2018-2019 school year. Unexploded ordnance accidents impact a family’s livelihood, as having an injured child or family member makes it extremely difficult for the family to recover economically. PeaceTrees ensures that these children can attend school and break the cycle of poverty for families still hurting from the aftermath of war. PeaceTrees scholarships include a full-year of tuition, textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, meals, and additional administrative fees that these children would otherwise be unable to afford.
To reach our goal, we want to give scholarship to just 75 more children this year! Please consider making a gift of $50 to help the children of Quang Tri have access to education this coming school year.
Having an injured child or family member makes it extremely difficult for the family to recover economically. Accident survivors and their families already have difficulty affording school fees, uniforms and books. With your help, PeaceTrees can ensure that these children can attend school and break the cycle of poverty for families still hurting from the aftermath of war. PeaceTrees scholarships include a full-year of tuition, textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, meals, and additional administrative fees that these children would otherwise be unable to afford.
We are only $2,000 from reaching our goal of feeding and educationg 3,500 children in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. Please help us ensure that every child who is affected by an unexploded ordnance accident can attend school, graduate, and better support themselves and their family!
Children are now attending classes in Quang Tri and are excited to continue learning! We are thrilled that your donations help us offer support and allow us to witness scholarship recipients’ educational success. So far in 2017, through your support and the support of other generous donors, PeaceTrees has offered scholarships to over 200 children. As we celebrate the holidays with family and friends here in the United States, we are also reminded of the need that continues to exist for many children in Quang Tri, Vietnam.
These children need uniforms, school books, and tuition each year. Mandatory school expenses and fees cost approximately $50 a year. While this may not seem like a large sum in the context of holiday expenses, in a province where many families live on $2 USD a day, the cost of $50 per child creates an impossible barrier for many in Quang Tri.You can help us grow the number of children receiving this life changing assistance and ensure that they receive stable and predictable support. This holiday season, we hope you will join us in fostering a brighter future for mine accident affected children and ethnic minority children experiencing extreme poverty. A donation of $50 will provide a child with scholarship assistance for an entire year. Thank you for your generous support!
This year we celebrated the graduation of 31 children from the Lao Bao Kindergarten in Quang Tri Province! Since 2010, your generosity has helped provide many young children with the opportunity to grow healthily and learn more. PeaceTrees Vietnam's scholarship program provides the supplies and support needed for students to succeed in primary school and beyond.
With the new school year right aroudn the corner, we are gearing up for the 2017 to 2018 school year! We want to thank you for all you have done for the children of Quang Tri, and hope that you will continue to support their education and futures!
