Progress report on Empower Women in Rural Cameroon - Palm Oil Project

By Wirkom Fred Mbiydzenyuy | Project leader

The Palm oil project which is an initiative to empower women to be able to raise capaital for themselves, fight against poverty amongs them, and also  acting as a unifying factor for  them to receive  support from each other  remain very active with the little capital that we have.

Since August, there was a progressive decline in the supply of the Palm oil thereby, reducing the quantity that our capital  was sypplying in the past.

The prices continued  skyrocating till date and this is making it difficult for some women to receive the little oil and pay on time.   This is a clear indication that the objective of striving to raise capital for SeReP to infuture keep on buying in bulk the the supply in much and releasing them at the cheapest prices possible with the supply declines is something to work hard towards raising funds for this project.

However, we continued to work with the pilot groups even though with reduced  quantity to all the groups, they are still very happy that the prices are still below the market price.

Our volunteers continued to work with the women  in their various groups and educating them on proper book keeping. Nancy and Laura from Uk did their best to review the project accoung and also did some updates and other ways which the central accounting system for the project should be run.

The Fulani (Bororo women) are really  benefiting for this project and we are also very satisfied with  the way the project is helping the women very well.

We pray the the project should in future have enough capaitl to get on well and to extend to other groups.

We sincerely thank those who have supported this project in the past and call on those are yet to join the course of  helping these women to do so without and hesitation.

Predencia one of our volunteer has been assigned to work with this groups and collect enough pictures for the project.  I regret to inform you that we have tried to attach the ones that we hav enow and our lines are terrible.  It takes us many days to have a pictures attached.  We are in the real rural area of Cameroon and access to this is not very easy.

May God Bless all of you.
