Turning Point had the joy of partnering with The Kings Family Care Foundation (TKFC) to provide Christmas food packages to the families of the children we support. It was more than a distribution exercise — it was a beautiful collaboration rooted in compassion and shared purpose.
As families came to receive their food packs, there was a noticeable shift in the atmosphere. Smiles replaced worry. Laughter filled the vicinity. Parents carried their packages home not just with supplies, but with relief and gratitude.
One father shared quietly, “This Christmas, I did not know how we would celebrate. When I received this food pack, I felt seen. My children were able to eat well and celebrate like other families. Thank you for remembering us.”
A mother echoed similar joy, saying, “The holidays can be stressful, especially when we feel the pressure to provide a grand meal on Christmas Day. This gift brought so much happiness to our home. We cooked chapati! That is a such a big deal to the children. For once, I did not feel anxious about Christmas celebrations.”
For many families, the food packs meant warm meals, shared moments around the table, and the simple but powerful gift of celebrating Christmas with cheer.
Our Feeding Programme Manager, who oversaw the entire activity, reflected on the partnership with deep gratitude: “Working alongside The Kings Family Care Foundation was truly encouraging. Seeing the joy on families’ faces reminded us why partnerships matter. When organisations come together, we can reach further and love more practically. I am hopeful for more collaborations that will continue to bring joy and hope to families in Kibera.”
This initiative was a reminder that when we work together — supporters, partners, and community — impact multiplies. Christmas became more than a date on the calendar; it became a celebration of generosity, unity, and shared hope.
We hope you feel the warmth that filled so many homes last December. Your continued support makes partnerships like this possible. We warmly invite you to keep walking with us, helping ensure that families in Kibera not only meet their needs but experience the joy and hope they deserve.
Together, we can continue to turn seasons of uncertainty into moments of celebration.
