This project will help feed the 106 horses that live at Horses of Tir Na Nog for one month. Each June we invite our supporters to help us celebrate the Celtic Moon of the Horses with an Irish pub fundraiser. Since that is not possible this year due to Covid-19 we are asking everyone to help us celebrate from afar. Covid-19 has not reduced our need to care for abused and neglected horses, in fact we have never cared for as many horses as we are in 2020!
We are currently caring for 106 horses (including our mustangs, burros and mini mules), far more than we have ever cared for before. While it would be easy to give into the fear and anxiety that Covid-19 has brought we are committed to continuing to be "a safe haven for horses that have few options remaining, thereby ensuring them a better quality of life."
Since 2008 we have worked closely with County of San Diego Department of Animal Services to offer a forever home to horses they rescue from abuse and neglect but that are not adopted. In the last twelve years, through our partnership, Animal Services has not had to euthanize a single medically manageable horse. Your support of our efforts will allow us to continue to offer a forever home to horses in need.
This project will provide feed for all 106 of our horses for an entire month.
