The Darcy Vargas Foundation School (FDV School) goes beyond the traditional concept of a regular school—we are a laboratory school. Through partnerships with universities, the private sector, and non-governmental organizations, we integrate scientific and academic research into daily school life. This innovative model directly contributes to the development of new approaches in education.
Currently, the FDV School serves approximately 180 students living in conditions of severe socioeconomic vulnerability. Many families survive on less than $90 per month, in a country where the minimum wage does not exceed $300.
Our curriculum stands out for innovative initiatives that promote social and digital citizenship, encourage critical thinking, integrate interdisciplinary knowledge, and foster student leadership in their life projects and community engagement. In addition, we are one of the few schools that invest in continuous teacher training and actively promote diversity and inclusion through courses that recover and contextualize African heritage in history and society.
Since its inauguration, the Darcy Vargas Foundation School has graduated 54 young students. Among them, 37% have entered higher education, and 74% are currently studying or employed. Furthermore, our students achieve above-average scores in essay assessments in the country's most important national exam.
Our commitment is to transform lives through quality education, preparing our students to face challenges and build a fairer and more equal future.
