Dear Friends of FAWEZI,
As promised in our last report, the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWEZI) has begun the enrolment process for three other beneficiaries at Domboramwari High School. The girls will be starting form 3 early June and it is the organisation’s intention to keep on raising funds for them until tertiary level. These girls have been selected from the Epworth Mabvuku Tafara District which has a high number of economically challenged households and child headed families. Once again thank you to our supporters; it is you who have made this possible!
Two of the girls are joining the school under the Non-Formal Education Scheme — Nyengeterai and Angeline — while one is joining the main stream education — Nomsa.
Nyengeterai and Angeline are 18 and 24 respectively and grew up in Epworth. Their father is still in college and not yet working and their mother has been unable to find work, resulting in their dropping out of school. With FAWEZI support they are starting school this coming month. Nyengeterai hopes that finishing school will help her pursue a career in travel and tourism, and one day become an air hostess. Likewise, Angeline wants to go into the travel and tourism industry but is more interested in the management side of things.
Nomsa is 15 and was raised by her single mother who paid her school feels until she was in form 2 and money became too tight. She is excited to return to school and 'plans to work hard to eventually become a nurse'.
Kindly consider donating again so that we continue achieving our goal of changing the lives of disadvantaged girls who dropped out of school due to pregnancy and financial challenges.
FAWEZI’s appeal for support on our ‘send 20 girls back to school’ project has been up on the Global Giving site for a year now and we are happy to have you on board — thank you. Also stay up to date on FAWEZI through Facebook here and at www.fawezi.org.
From all of us at FAWEZI, thank you.
