Project Report | Jan 18, 2022
It's a new year, new term and new beneficiaries!

By Wendy Muzite | Project Assistant

Greetings dear friends of FAWEZI and compliments of the new season!

We hope we find you all well amidst the global pandemic. As for us we are grateful to be facing the challenges of the new year. Already we have begun by delayed school opening here in Zimbabwe a situation that further exposes our girls to various challenges. In our last 2021 report, we shared that we had three beneficiaries in school (2 in high school, 1 in primary) and one who is at tertiary level.

The two high school girls sat for their final National Advanced level examinations which spilled into January 2022 due to the COVID 19 related delays. They have since completed their examinations and we eagerly wait for their results. We are hopeful and cannot wait to celebrate together with you. This 2022 we have not yet enrolled new beneficiaries as the schools have not fully opened for non-examination classes.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) is yet to announce opening dates, but meanwhile we are reaching to our contacts in the schools in preparation for the selection of 2022 beneficiaries. We will be assisting girls who have dropped out or are at a risk of dropping out of school due to many reasons including pregnancy and child marriage. FAWEZI is keeping in touch with the four girls in terms of general well-being and provision of mentorship in line with career guidance.

Our desire is that as schools open, we will be able to enroll more beneficiaries and offer them a chance at attaining a basic education qualification. We again encourage you our dear donors to keep on supporting this noble cause so that we empower our disadvantaged girls with education. The organization and beneficiaries remain grateful for your support. We are confident that you will keep on supporting this good cause. We look forward to supporting more girls this year.

From all of us here at FAWEZI -Thank you. Stay safe from COVID-19 .
