GRACE exists to eradicate the vulnerabilities of illiteracy & poverty of at-risk children in Pattaya Thailand - a global capitol of sex trafficking of minors. We are expanding services beyond our Family Resource Centers and child sponsorship to implementation of a family-based foster care program. We will train and support staff, guardians and parents to provide safe & healthy homes. Donations directly impact 72 abandoned children through family-placement. JOIN US as we foster change in Thailand
Children without guardians reside in the streets and slums of our community in Thailand. Many of these vulnerable children resort to collecting recyclables, begging and yielding to exploitation. The time spent seeking funds for their next meal or food and the lack of guardianship often become obstacles in attending school and adequate child development. Children are subjected to many risk factors including abuse, neglect, poverty and illiteracy. An alternative to institutional care is needed.
GRACE Family Resource Center is centrally located for transitioning children into a family setting. Family-based support provided by trained couple/person caring, as if their offspring, for children who have been abandoned or removed (due to abuse or severe neglect) from their biological family. The GRACE transition center will provide intake services, vetting processes, guardian training, and home placement. GRACE will coordinate holistic physical and mental care for the children and guardians.
The placement of 72 children into families reduces the vulnerabilities and prevents involvement in crime, unemployment, and drug abuse; thus, improving their ability to secure housing and jobs. Many young adults who have grown up in institutions often have children early without adequate support resulting in the next generation being placed in institutional (group home or orphanage) care. Family environments will improve child development & reduce the burden of generational institutionalization.
