Abandoned and abused girls have the right to a family and should be protected. Every child deserves a loving family and education. Puerta Abierta is giving the tools to the girls so they can achieve their life project to become responsible, self-sufficient and independent adults. They will build healthy families and will not permit the abuse they suffered as they have learned to respect and love and won't repeat the pattern that hurt them. Being well educated and loved will change them forever
Children born into poverty, ignorance and malnutrition have fewer chances to finish secondary school. In Mexico 6 out of every 10 leave school at secondary level as public school can't fulfill their needs. If we add up to their emotional load, abuse and abandon, their chances to finish school without a personalized attention are very low. These 15 girls are supported within a family model and will receive private schooling so they have an opportunity to become independent and self-suffiicient.
Attending private schools with smaller groups allows the girls to be attended in their specific cognitive and emotional needs. Mexican private schools are better qualified to attend learning disabilities and help the girls finish school. Qualified teachers can plan the girls curricula so it is accomplishable. Teachers knowledge of the academical and emotional status of the girls allows them to work as a team with the caretakers for better results in order improve their self-esteem.
When the girls become adults, self-sufficient and independent through their education and family they will be able to construct a responsible and healthy family where the abusive pattern won't be repeated. They will be responsible with the society and they and their families and will be able to live a productive life where society won't have to support them anymore.
