¡We finished another great school year (2021-2022) promoting leadership in the educational sector in Mexico! We continued with the commitment to transforming educational communities while accompanying students, teachers, and families in underserved contexts.

We supported 17,464 students in 175 schools across 10 states, through the collaboration of 210 Profesionales de Enseña por México (PEM) that participated in our Leadership Program. With the Leadership Program, PEMs were able to:

  • PROMOTE NEW LEADERSHIPS for social change.
  • INNOVATE in solving educational problems.
  • DESIGN and IMPLEMENT educational projects, adapting to each context.
  • DEVELOP educational research skills.
  • IDENTIFY strengths and opportunities in terms of self-awareness and autonomy for leadership.

Now, the new school year (2022-2023) begins, and with it new challenges and opportunities. We are now operating in 12 states (Quintana Roo, Queretaro, and Veracruz have been added to our program) supporting 217 schools from early childhood to high school, through the collaboration of 254 PEM.

Thanks to your support we can continue our journey to be a broad, diverse and inclusive movement in favor of social justice so that all children and youth in Mexico have access to an education that guarantees them to develop their maximum potential regardless of their context.

Learning through the challenge
Learning through the challenge

We are approaching the end of the 2021-2022 school year, a particularly complicated one as almost all schools are returning to face-to-face classes and hybrid modalities must be balanced to support students, teachers, and families across Mexico.

We have seen millions of Mexican students drop out of school in the past year, a learning gap that is difficult to quantify, and inequities that are more visible than ever. Resources are available only to a few students and many suffer from a disadvantaged education system that is unable to support students in underserved contexts.

Despite the many challenges, Enseña por México has been able to support 171 schools in marginalized communities across 10 states through the incredible commitment and resilience of +200 Profesionales de Enseña por México (PEM), that have understood the need each educational community has and allied with principals, teachers, and primary caregivers to provide quality educational support to children and students from 0-19 years old. We are certain that PEM have made a significant impact in children's centers and schools through innovative support strategies.

With +800 alumni continuing their commitment to social justice, we are now recruiting the 10th generation of PEM for the school year 2022-2023 and we are happy to announce that we will be growing to 3 new states (Queretaro, Quintana Roo, and Veracruz). We know that the challenge is huge and we are working hard in developing local leadership that can transform the educational sector in favor of children and youth in disadvantaged communities.

Thank you for your support in this journey!

In Enseña por México we strive to build a broad, diverse and inclusive movement of leaders who are agents of change in Mexico so that children and youth have access to an education that guarantees their full potential.

Throughout the past semester, as well as during the pandemic crisis, we have adapted to better support students, primary caregivers, teachers, and members of the community. Through virtual, hybrid, and face-to-face formats, more than 220 Profesionales de Enseña por México collaborate in 144 schools in 10 states and continue to create contextualized strategies that are relevant to each educational community.

They are a constant reflection of our identity, which is characterized by motors that guide our actions towards the fulfillment of our collective vision, and which we strive to be present at all levels of impact and among all those who are part of this movement:
1. Continuous learning is a part of daily life. We see learning as a cycle of continuous improvement, where excellence is not the only goal; We use the reflection from humility to recognize in ourselves and others the areas of opportunity and strength, which allows us to learn from each other and from each experience.
2. We adapt to change by being flexible and positive in the face of unforeseen situations, we come up with solutions, we get involved, and we take responsibility for the results.
3. We act with a sense of urgency. We are aware of the challenges we face, which is why we act in the now and with empathy. We plan and execute strategically.
4. In taking charge, we act with co-responsibility and are committed to our vision.

Your support and involvement in this movement are greatly appreciated! ¡Gracias!

At Enseña por México we envision a world where educators, policymakers, parents, and students are working together to ensure that their communities’ children have the foundation they need to shape a better future for themselves and all of us.

Education is fundamental to development and growth - making all development achievements, from health advances and investigation to efficient public administration and private sector growth. There is definitely no better tool for our society to thrive than education.

Even when this importance is evident, achieving learning for all is extremely challenging, and the Covid-19 pandemic has only made this gap more evident. That is why Enseña por México collaborates with underserved schools around the country to develop the necessary skills for children and youth to achieve their full potential, but we also focus on developing leaders for the educational and social sector in order to create a movement that is committed to transforming the educational system, ending education inequity and promoting social justice.

Your support today is more important than ever before. Only in the past school year (2020-2021) it has allowed us to collaborate with more than 25 thousand students from early childhood to high school in 10 states.

Investing in education is truly one of the most powerful instruments for reducing poverty and inequality, and lays the foundation for sustained prosperity for all. We are incredibly honored by your contribution. Thank you for being part of the transformation.
