In 2021, with the worsening of the pandemic and the shortage of vaccines, families that were already in a vulnerable situation have become even more fragile, at the mercy of extreme poverty and hunger. To support these families, food baskets, hygiene kits and masks in Camacari, Dias d'vila, Lauro de Freitas Simoes Filho and Taubate will be distributed in partnership with the Rede Asta . This is an expansion of the existing project that will be benefit 1500 families over a period of 4 months.
The global pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus and its multiple consequences has been a source of great concern for Aldeias Infantis SOS Brasil. The social isolation measures imposed by local governments, although very necessary, have had a catastrophic impact on the income of many vulnerable families we serve. Most of these families depend on informal jobs to guarantee their livelihood and, because of this crisis, their income disappeared overnight.
SOS in partnership with Rede Asta will carry out an action plan focused on two goals: food security and virus prevention. Aldeias Infantis SOS Brasil will distribute food baskets, alcohol gel, and bleach to families in high situations of social vulnerability.
The project will provide food security for the benefited families, what will help them to keep quarentine. This supports their weel-, being and health.
