Hope you are doing well !
From January to March 17, multiple labs at Kuppam Campus was visited by 1000 + children and delivered 85049 children exposures comprising of 45546 boy exposures and 39503 girl exposures.
Visit to Kuppam campus inspire children to learn science and encourages them to think of novel and creative ways to address scholastic and social challenges.
Peer-to-peer education has become a basic building block of the Agastya model. A foundational insight of this approach is that children learn more – and retain more of what they learn – when they have to explain it to others.
The YIL program harnesses the energy and enthusiasm of children who show special interest in – and aptitude for – science, math, and other key areas of study. Special classes at Campus are conducted for YILs to dig deeply into the mysteries of science and math. Along the way, YILs develop leadership skills and the self-confidence to be effective peer teachers at science fairs and Agastya learning centers.
Below is a story of Pruthvi, a YIL whose life is transformed after visiting Agastya Campus.
Pruthvi, young instructor leader of Agastya International Foundation. He has three members in family, mother, elder brother, and him. His father, who was a farmer, passed away recently because of heart attack .His father’s death has made him take a resolution that he wants to be a doctor specialized in cardiology.
He participated in many science fairs, painting competitions, and debates. He has been coming to the campus since he was in class 3. He has made an IRIS project in Microbiology which is on the antibacterial activity of Solanum Viarum (Yellow Brinjal). The project was all about medicinal drug for bacteria which was a success. He loves the campus and is always ready to visit the campus. He has become curious about diseases, medicines, and everything that surrounds him. Pruthvi also did a model on vegetative propagation by cutting the stem and replacing them onto high yielding plants. This project has helped many farmers in his village.
He feels that a good human being should help everyone around him. He has been instrumental in planting trees, building nests for the birds and placing them around campus which is good for the environment. He was a part of campaigns to stop substance abuse as it leads to cancer in the body and how it affects the cardiovascular system. He opined that Agastya has played a very important role in his life.
This transformation happened because of your support to this project. We hope to recieve support from you in future to ignite young minds.
