AGASTYA'S OPERATION VASANTHA CUMULATIVE REPORT

By Bipin Irabatti | Executive Donor Relations

BRIEF:
The Operation Vasantha program, successfully delivered hands-on learning experiences to disadvantaged communities over the six-month period. The program consistently operated across a large network of centers, starting at 67 in April and maintaining approximately 60 centers through the end of the term. The program focused on bridging the educational gap, recording consistently high monthly student engagement, with over 2,000 students attending sessions each month. Key developments included the introduction of physical activities and the formal distribution of digital learning materials.

DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED:
Daily and weekly activities focused on delivering joyful, activity-based education, volunteer capacity building, and community awareness.

Educational Delivery: Regular sessions utilized hands-on models and creative methodologies, including specific activities like paper craft, observed at centers like Virupakshipuram.

Health and Social Awareness: The program actively integrated awareness campaigns, including the celebration of World Health Day and World Earth Day. A "Mobile awareness drama" was performed at Dasamanapalli to address relevant social issues.

Curriculum Enhancement: Following suggestions in July for promoting physical well-being, Yoga Asanas (five daily practices) were successfully implemented in 30 OV centers by August.

Volunteer Training: Training sessions were regularly conducted for OV volunteers, including a session in May focused on distributing stationary materials and a follow-up session in August detailing the daily schedule protocols.

Digital Integration: Apnipathashala materials and computers were distributed to several centers starting in August, formalizing the integration of digital literacy into the curriculum.

SPECIAL PROGRAMS & EVENTS:
The period saw numerous high-profile visits and special events, underscoring strong internal and external stakeholder support.

Student Visits and Camps: All OV students visited the Agastya campus for a Summer Camp program that concluded in the last week of April and early May.

Celebrations and Contests: Centers celebrated key national events like Ambedkar Jayanti and Independence Day. Students also actively participated in an OV photo contest in August.

Volunteer Contribution: Twenty OV volunteers donated plants to the Agastya campus in May.

FEEDBACK:

The program established clear mechanisms for feedback collection throughout the period.

  • The Anjani program was conducted in 30 OV centers in July specifically to collect direct feedback from both students and parents.

  • Agastya's Chairmen Sri. Ramjiraghavan sir actively engaged with parents at the Pogurupalli center in July to gather community insights.

CONCLUSION:

Operation Vasantha achieved its educational and outreach goals with remarkable consistency and high student participation over the six months. The program successfully managed a large network of centers and demonstrated adaptability by integrating new physical wellness components (Yoga) and digital materials (Apnipathashala). Moving forward, the focus should be on ensuring the successful rollout of the new digital and physical initiatives across all centers and consistently monitoring the student exposure and engagement metrics.
