Thanks for Igniting Young Minds

By Jaya Chandrayan | Executive

 Hi,

Hope you are well .

Agastya’s unique methods and programs aim to address significant gaps in education systems that are stretched to their limits.s. The programs are holistically designed to spark creative thinking and problem solving skills, improve learning achievement, and expand opportunities. Agastya’s educational interventions complement and work alongside government programs and the curriculum in the government schools.

Below is the story of S. Keerthi, who is 14 years old and got inspired to pursue her career in teaching  after visiting Agastya.

"Every time I visit Agastya , I learn new things. We learn by doing." says Keerthi enthusiastically. She was fascinated by the machineries and models and also she was allowed to work with 3D printers and laser cutting. Agastya gave her new insight about the various concepts she was taught at school like Potato Dextrose Agar in biology. She worked on models relating to women safety using IR sensors. Keerthi carries a little bit of Agastya everywhere she goes.

Keerthi is inspired by Agastya and wishes to become a teacher at Agastya, fulfilling her father's long held dream to become a teacher. Keerthi's mother works as a superior in a college and has inspired her to want to work in a college as a teacher. She believes that learning and understanding science can help her in achieving her goal. She has gained more confidence to teach her peers at school what she learns in Agastya. She believes peer teaching is more efficient and allows for a greater understanding.

Keerthi wants to be a moral and financial support for her family. Her uncle is her role model who has helped her and pushed her to achieve what she wants. Her hobbies include watching television where she learns more about the society and the world.

"Love nature and nature will love you back", says Keerthi. She is very passionate about nature and hopes to solve nature calamities by creating awareness among citizens. Along with nature , Keerthi wants to work towards the betterment of the society. She wants to eradicate poverty and world hunger. She believes that corruption is the root of all evil and wants to work towards eliminating it.
