Help us build our Somo Mombasa Hub!

We have made our first investments in Mombasa and graduated our 2nd cohort of trainees! We are getting ready to launch our Mombasa hub later this year. Please consider contributing to our campaign to help us grow our physical presence in Mombasa.

Mombasa is a coastal city of Kenya. It is one of the oldest and second-largest cities in Kenya. Of the 1.2 million residents, 40% live in the informal settlement lacking the basic services and employment opportunities due to overpopulation. Similar to Nairobi and Kisumu, residents from these underserved settlements have community-changing ideas, but they lack the training, capital, mentorship and market access, to bring change in their communities.

Somo invests in community-led initiatives and provides the resources entrepreneurs need to build sustainable enterprises. These resources include business training, funding, access to new markets and tailored advising and mentorship. Our goal is to create unlimited opportunities for entrepreneurs whose talent are unutilized due to lack of capital or wasted in crime and menial jobs.

Long-Term Impact

Your support will give us a home in Mombasa, providing trainees and entrepreneurs with a supportive space to work and grow their businesses from. If you're in a position to help us expand our impact, please consider donating!
