Its finally coming together

I was just recently at Challenging Heights Hovde House and there has been so much progress on Phase 1 since I last checked in with you.
I’m also excited to report to you the windows are now up as you can see in the photos. The workers are working hard hammering in the final black window holders in the frame. We are making a great progress with this wonderful project. The building is coming along well and the staff as well as the students are looking forward to the new additions.
Also, the computer lab provided by Australian Aid is now up and running. 25 computers are in the lab and being utlized by the students. We have also added an ICT teacher to help the students with their computer needs.
We're so excited to provide the children with a chance to learn 21st century skills, opening new doors and opportunities for their futures.
It's because of your support of this construction that these opportunities are becoming a reality. We're so grateful for your support, and we'll have more updates for you soon!

Brick by brick, Phase 1 is becoming a reality

Wow, so much has happened with the construction of Phase 1 since I last checked in with you!
The concrete for the ceilings dried and set, so the wooden molds were removed. Shortly after the load of bricks arrived and the classroom walls quickly went up. What will be a nice, clean bathroom for the children to use was also built.
These classrooms are going to be so spacious! There will be plenty of room for the boys and girls to move around and for the teachers to use some more interactive activities, making learning more fun.
Also, the library has been tiled and windows installed in preparation for the computer lab provided by Australian Aid. We're so excited to provide the children with a chance to learn 21st century skills, opening new doors and opportunities for their futures.

Phase 1 is really taking shape!

Construction on the classrooms has been steadily progressing over the last few weeks. After the supports went up, the construction workers built wooden molds that are being used to create the ceilings for the classrooms. It's quite a labour- and time-instensive process! All of the bamboo in the pictures is holding up the wooden molds and the concrete ceiling.
With the ceiling up, you can really get a sense of the classrooms. It's getting easier to imagine where the desks will be and the classes that will be taking place there. You can take in the whole skeleton of the building and it is so exciting.
We're also excited to say that the library will have a set of computers thanks to Australian Aid. This is an amazing opportunity for the boys and girls at the Challenging Heights Hovde House to learn 21st century skills. This grant wouldn't have been possible without your support for the infrastructure.
Can you imagine the futures that you've created for the children who will be learning here? Their futures full of possibility and free from slavery? This is where the boys and girls' futures will be shaped, and you've given them an amazing opportunity.
