Project #6079

EWB Las Vegas - Ghana Orphanage Project

by Engineers Without Borders Las Vegas Chapter
$1,210 Raised
total goal
monthly donors
This project will provide a new orphanage complex with improved living conditions, clean water and educational opportunities to over 80 kids in the Drifting Angels Orphanage in Tsito, Ghana

The current orphanage houses 50 orphans and its founder, Mama Elise. It is just a couple of old structures on rented land leaving almost 30 more orphans in foster care. We have already successfully completed a well to provide clean drinking water and a latrine. A new orphanage building and latrine is currently under construction that will house all 80 kids. But additional funding is needed in order to complete this project and future planned projects including an additional latrine and a school.

The mission of the program is to design and construct a safe orphanage complex that will house all 80 kids complete with living quarters, latrines, washrooms and a future school providing the kids the opportunity for an education.

Long-Term Impact

The project will raise the quality of life for 80 orphans by providing them with safe and sanitary living conditions and an education. When completed the money that once went towards rent can be applied to other necessities such as food and clothing
