As a HUD-approved counseling agency serving Lee, Collier, Charlotte, & Hendry counties, we guide people from homelessness to stable renting to homeownership, with focused support for seniors, veterans, & individuals with disabilities.In SW Florida, rising rents, limited housing supply, & repeated hurricane recovery have left many working families, seniors, & veterans one setback away from losing their homes.
The impact falls hardest on those with the fewest options. Seniors on fixed incomes struggle to keep up with rising costs & needed home repairs. Veterans returning to civilian life often face barriers to housing. Individuals with disabilities have trouble finding homes that are both affordable & accessible. Without help, a single setback can push a household into eviction, foreclosure, or homelessness.
AHF's work does more than solve an immediate housing crisis. It builds lasting stability. Families who complete counseling and the Responsible Renter Course gain skills that help them keep their housing for years to come. First-time homebuyers build equity and generational wealth. Seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities stay safely in their homes and communities rather than facing displacement. Individuals leaving homelessness gain a foundation to rebuild their lives.
