Dear Donor,
Lasting change begins when girls find the confidence to speak up, communities question harmful gender norms, and young people realise their power to shape their futures. This quarter, your support helped make that change visible across Haryana and Delhi.
1. International Women’s Day: Equality Is Everyone’s Responsibility
Across 34 Gram Panchayats in six Haryana districts, 1,227 people came together to discuss women’s rights, girls’ education, safety, and equal opportunities. Girls spoke about restrictions on their mobility, early marriage, and limited educational opportunities, while men and community leaders reflected on their role in creating a more equal society.
2. Breaking the Silence Around Menstruation
Around Menstrual Hygiene Day, over 1,000 people across Delhi, Faridabad, and six Haryana districts participated in activities challenging menstrual stigma. Films, games, storytelling, and interactive discussions encouraged open conversations about menstrual health, dignity, and bodily autonomy. The participation of boys and men reinforced that menstrual health is a shared responsibility.
3. Girls Turning Their Voices into Action
In Morkheri village, Rohtak, girls’ sustained advocacy helped secure a solar-powered library with internet access, a drinking-water cooler, and a community gym. In Nilouthi, Jhajjar, advocacy by 12 adolescent girls contributed to the installation of 530 streetlights, with a library and CCTV cameras also in progress.
These achievements show how girls can influence decisions and transform their communities when their voices are heard.
4. Young Leaders Bringing Girls Back to School
Across Karnal, Panipat, and Sonipat, 21 Team Change Leaders identified over 200 girls who had dropped out of school and mobilised families and communities to support their education. Their efforts helped 21 girls return to school, while several other families initiated the re-enrolment process.
5. Young Leaders, Bigger Dreams
Two Team Change Leaders, Sonia and Sujata, were selected for the Gandhi Fellowship offered by the Piramal Foundation. From overcoming hesitation and challenging pressure to marry to pursuing higher education and community leadership, their journeys demonstrate how investing in young people can transform aspirations into opportunities.
Why Your Support Matters
From improved village facilities to girls returning to school and young leaders pursuing new opportunities, every achievement brings us closer to a more equal future. Your support helps girls challenge restrictive norms, claim their rights, and shape their own lives.
Thank you for being part of this journey towards a future where every girl can learn, lead, and thrive.
