This project supports the distribution of FREE medicines that would otherwise be unaffordable to individuals impacted by the Syrian displacement crisis. Multifaith Alliance works in opposition-held territories of northern Syria.
Within Syria, only 59 per cent of hospitals, 57 per cent of primary health care facilities and 63 per cent of specialized centers are fully functioning. In northeast Syria, essential medicines are unaffordable and in short supply.
MFA will procure, ship, and distribute essential medicines throughout northeast Syria. These medicines will support MFA's primary health care center, which is the only primary health care facility in the area with a catchment population of more than 50,000 people. It provides consultations and free medicines to about 4000 patients each month. MFA also works in partnership with dozens of other healthcare centers, hospitals, and pharmacies to cover as much need as possible.
The project will provide thousands of individuals with the essential medicines they need.
