Greetings and welcome to our first WOW report of 2025. We celebrated the end of the year with a party and swimming. For some of the young people it was their first time to enjoy pizza. They all got to bring a bag of foodstuffs with them to their homes. Some also got to go and spend Christmas with their families.
As we start the new year we do so with our 8th group of young people following the World of Work programme. We have 8 young men and three young women. One young mother has two children, one just delivered last week and the other is expecting to deliver shortly. As of now we have supported all in house except for 3. We hope that by next month all of this current group shall be housed.
As well as the usual day to day activities in the compound we have arranged various visitors to meet and speak with the young people. Towards the end of last year they had a session on Safeguarding and Protection and last week Kitale Community and Advancement Programme staff had a session with them on drugs and addiction.
This week we also had a day when a former WOW member on attachment with the programme, Emmanuel, taught the young people how to play chess.
As we have been grateful for the support of those on GlobalGiving during 2024 we look forward to your continued support during 2025.
