This project will equip and empower individuals in Nigeria and Uganda by providing vocational training, such as tailoring, catering, hair dressing, makeup and computer skills. This project will also minimize the risks of young women engaging in commercial prostitution and help them tap into their full potential to create a stable and secure life for themselves. Small businesses are widely recognized as the backbone of African economies. This project will support and promote small businesses.
Single mothers are faced with lack of moral support from families and friends while raising their children alone. After the death of the breadwinner, widows should be assisted and cared for to withstand the emotional and psychological trauma but unfortunately the reverse is the case. Widows face a lot of challenges leading to stress, depression, poverty, making them unable to take care of themselves and their children.
The women will be empowered towards entrepreneurship by attending hands on vocational training where they will develop skills and learn about basic business practices. Upon completion of training, individuals will then receive equipment to start their own income generating business to be able to provide food and basic necessities for themselves and the family.
With ongoing income generating skills, Women will be financially empowered, secure, and stable.
