COVID-19, global insecurities, fear of climate change and forms of abuse at home or school are affecting children's emotional, physical and psychological development, increasing their fear and isolation. Romi's Way wants to support them by connecting children back to Nature and living creatures that are guiding children and youth to feel compassion, care, stillness and peace. Equine assisted interventions can heal, ease trauma and increase creativity and joy in children with quality outdoor time
Children are suffering from isolation, fear, abuse and insecurites related to the COVI19 after-math, domestic abuse, bullying, low-income of parents and fear for the events on our world (wars, climate change etc.). Isolation keeps them close to screens and technology, but disconnects them further from the living world and Nature. Romi's Way wants to restore balance to lives of children by introducing them to the healing, inspiring, and compassionate offerings equine assisted interventions offer.
We have two therapy ponies Paavo and Pete reporting to duty to help children to connect to Nature and to their own pure selves. Through individual and group activities, the ponies will teach children about superpowers such as compassion, care, love and joy - and how children can cultivate these inside them. Children will have opportunities to meditate, create art, laugh and dance, walk and even ride with the ponies and share their experience with other children while spending time outdoors.
Mitigation is the best medicine for depression, aggression, violence, crime and abuse during adulthood. If children would have sufficient support for their emotional, physical, cognitive and spiritual development, most of these issues could be prevented. Child who learns how to love, care and show compassion towards others and towards themselves, is likely to grow up and cultivate these values in all areas of their lives. Equines are master-teachers of compassion, kindness, joy and care
