Discrimination thrives where understanding is missing. This project empowers 500 youth in Kano with practical knowledge about equality, dignity, and peaceful coexistence. Through structured workshops and dialogue sessions, young people will learn to challenge stigma, respect diversity, and promote inclusion. Investing in youth today creates safer, more resilient communities tomorrow.
Young people in Kano grow up surrounded by misinformation and stigma about LGBTQIA+ individuals. Without access to balanced education, prejudice spreads through schools and communities, leading to bullying, fear, and exclusion. These attitudes threaten social harmony and put vulnerable individuals at risk, while limiting youth from becoming responsible, tolerant leaders.
Education changes attitudes. This project will deliver interactive equality workshops, guided discussions, and youth ambassador training for 500 participants. Using culturally sensitive methods, youth will gain accurate information, empathy skills, and conflict-prevention tools. Trained participants will share lessons within their peer networks, multiplying impact beyond direct beneficiaries.
When youth understand equality, communities become safer. This project will reduce stigma, strengthen tolerance, and build youth-led advocates for peaceful coexistence in Kano. Over time, participants will influence schools, social groups, and families, helping create inclusive environments where dignity, respect, and human rights are sustained long after the project ends.
