TECHO Colombia continued working hand in hand with families living in informal settlements to improve housing conditions, strengthen community development, and reduce extreme poverty through collective action.
Thanks to the trust and support of our donors and partners, we mobilized 12,057 volunteers across the country, reaching 219% of our annual goal. This collective effort made it possible to build 198 emergency housing solutions and deliver 80 additional housing and community solutions, providing safer and more dignified living conditions for families facing extreme vulnerability.
Our work remained rooted in the territories. We maintained an active presence in 28 communities in Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Barranquilla, working closely with community leaders to ensure that each intervention responded to real and prioritized needs. Beyond housing, we focused on improving access to basic services: 61 families benefited from improved sanitation solutions (97% compliance), 29 homes gained access to electricity (580% of the initial goal), and we exceeded our targets in water access solutions (117%) and community center construction (150%).
These results were achieved alongside responsible financial management. We closed the year executing 96% of our planned expenditures, prioritizing social investment and strengthening long-term sustainability. In parallel, we advanced the implementation of Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology, allowing us to better measure and communicate the social, environmental, and economic value generated by every dollar invested.
While 2024 presented operational challenges, it also provided valuable learnings that are guiding our focus for 2025: improving territorial planning, strengthening community infrastructure execution, and scaling sustainable solutions that respond to the realities of each community.
Your support makes this work possible. Together, we are not only building houses—we are building dignity, opportunity, and stronger communities.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
