Project Report | Apr 30, 2024
Poultry Set up for Youth Group.

By Dungrila Pascal Mbimenyuy. | I.A.A Director/Project Leader.

Lack of Vocational training services and entrepreneurship opportunities for young people has the devastating potential to create a severe economic impact; increasing poverty, drug adiction, rural exodus and high rate of crime wave in Cameroon.Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) is spearheading efforts to break the employment limitations by training young people on entrepreneurship, providing mentorship and supporting youth businesses with resources to thrive successfully.

Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) has established a poultry farm with carrying capacity of 500 chicks for youth group in Alamatu, Mile 7 Mankon, Bamenda, Northwest region of Cameroon; with membership of 50 members. The group members have been trained on agribusiness, feed production, marketing, poultry techniques, savings, loan management and accountability. Within a cycly of 21-90 days, the group can generate approximately $5000 given that 5kg of chicken cost $10. This will increase economic capacity and self-sufficiency for 50 youths and increase food security for over 500 people in the area, an opportunity they did not have before.

Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) aims to raise $100,000 for this program and $340 have been raised so far through globalgiving needing $99660 to go. With your continued generosity through GlobalGiving, IAA will be able to go even further to create more impact. Thank you for being our valued donor and supporter, you are our hero, you made it possible for us to create change in our community.
