Market Gardening and Empowerment for Women/girls!

By Dungrila Pascal Mbimenyuy | Project Leader.

Market Gardening and Business Management Training and Support for Internally Displaced Women/girls and Host Communities in Cameroon.
. . -.
Earlier this 2026, Integrated Agricultural Association (IAA) held intensive workshops in Galim and Bamenjim, Cameroon. They equipped 155 participants—including 130 women and many IDPs—with essential skills in:
: Market gardening & seed management.
: Financial literacy, cooperative leadership, and business management.
: Creating kitchen gardens for sustainable home food sources.
:
115 new huckleberry market gardens
140 new cabbage kitchen gardens
255 total gardens fueling local food security and income.
These programs is addressing food insecurity, fostering peace, resilience, and economic independence for displaced families and host communities alike.

The trainings lasted for 8 hours, 4 hours in each community, 95 participants in Galim and 60 participants in Bamenjim, 25 men, 130 women with 71% IDP and 29% members of the host community.
IAA distributed huckleberry and cabbage seeds to 155 people. 57,500 grams of huckleberry seeds to 115 people, 500 grams per beneficiary for market garden creation and 1400 grams of cabbage to 140 people, 10 grams per person for kitchen gardens creation.
The objective is to fight hunger and reduce poverty in the IDP community, through agribusiness value chains and entrepreneurship with a focus on vegetables. We aim to support IDPs and Host communities to produce their own food, earn income and feed communities, build peace and promote cultural understanding and climate resilience.
Your continued donation will enable IAA to further it impact and achieve these goals in many more communities of Cameroon and beyond. A donation of any size can make a great difference as we work together to uplift others.
With gratitude!
