PROGRESS REPORT.

By Dungrila Pascal Mbimenyuy. | I.A.A Director/Project Leader.

Integrated Agricultural Association (I.A.A), have been working with young people since its creation in 2017. Young people constitudes 70% of the Cameroonian population, while 30% are unemployed. This youth unemployment is further compounded by COVID-19, climate change and poor education system. I.A.A initiated a project to increase entrepreneurship and vocational training opportunities for young to fight youth unemployment in Cameroon.

The goal of the project is to promote self-employment for over 1000 young people to be able to enter the labor market during the COVID-19 pandemic and post COVID-19 recovery world. I.A.A will contribute to the improvement of young people's lives through Entrepreneurship and community based sustainable skills in Agriculture, Technology, Poultry Production, Business management, Horticulture and STEM.

To date, the project has provided training on Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point in Bamenda, to prepare young people leaving school to be able to compete and secure jobs in Campanies, Institutions and SMEs. It has provided training on Business and financial management in Kumbo, impacting over 250 youths in Bamenda and Kumbo.

The project faces financial challenges to continue. I.A.A need $100,000 for this project and has just raised $100 through GlobalGiving. This is still far below the project goal and inability to reach the goal is slowing down the progress of this project. I.A.A welcomes donation of any amount to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youths by creating entrepreneurship and vocational training opportunities for youths in Cameroon.

I.A.A will continue to mobilize financial, technical and material resources through applying for funding opportunities from international donors, local donors, development agences and donations made through GlobalGiving. The organization will apply for memberships in development and social networks that can help I.A.A reach it project expectations.
