Dear friends:
According to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), the Latin American and the Caribbean countries face the pandemic from a weaker position than the rest of the world, and women have been the most affected by this situation.
Self-employment will be a way to get them involved in the workforce, so they could generate and manage economical resources. As a result, women will be part of the economic recovery that the country will urgently need to face the negative impacts of the economic crisis.
Women living in Yucatan, are being trained on line with human development and gender equality knowledge and with business topics, such as administration, marketing, finance, sales, tax, legal terms and corporate social responsibility (beginning date of trainning: January 25th ending date: February 19th). As a result, they will develop a life and business plan project to start or improve their own productive activity.
Consequently, women will be part of the economic boost through the self-employment and will provide new productive jobs that will contribute to the economic recovery
In march 2021, we will send you the final report with the project results. Thanks to GlobalGiving and to all the people who contribute to our project, to support women living in Yucatán.
Kind regards,
Patricia Larios, Director
