FW, a student diagnosed with ADHD and ASD, faced significant challenges in coping with school life due to difficulties in social interaction and sensory sensitivities. Before participating in the Young Enterprise Programme, FW struggled with attending school and withdrew from social interactions. However, the programme provided her with motivation, opportunities for personal growth, and development of transferable skills. Through uncomfortable and challenging situations, FW matured, developed confidence, and demonstrated remarkable leadership qualities.
Despite personal challenges and setbacks, FW took on the role of Managing Director and excelled in leading her team, even providing support to a competing team when needed. Her dedication and perseverance in the face of adversity highlight her tremendous personal growth throughout the programme. The experience taught FW the value of hard work and dedication, leading her to discover her potential and endless possibilities in life.
The success of FW's journey in the Young Enterprise Programme reflects the transformative impact it can have on young people's lives. Through participation in the programme, FW found purpose, built confidence, and acquired skills crucial for her future. Her remarkable progress and achievements earned her the prestigious Journey of the Year Award, a testament to her resilience and determination.
