Dear Donors,
In the upcoming academic year 2014-2015, 10 out of the 26 students of the special school for child labour in Kaja Pettai will be joining regular school. The children, who had been coached by an experienced teacher for two years now, will be admitted to classes based on their age and standard. The teacher takes them to school on a regular basis since March 1st which is essential in breaking the inhibitions and hindrances the children have in attending regular schools.
One of the children who will be going to regular school is Khan (name changed). Forced by parents to drop out from school when he was studying 5th standard, Khan started working in a silver factory. The staff of New Life counseled and convinced his parents to make him continue his education. He is a bright student and picked up well in the class. Now he is going to be admitted in 6th standard in a regular school. Khan’s ambition is to become a doctor.
Many such Khans can be made to continue their education with the support from you dear donors. Kindly support these children. You can also support the children who are going to regular schools and who have no one to guide or coach them at home in their studies. For this we have the “Supplementary Education Project”. Here the children are coached by experienced teachers in the after school hours. This helps the poor children whose parents are mostly illiterates/less literates and who could no support these children in their studies. Please visit the below link for supporting our supplementary education project at: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/supplementary-education-to-100-children-in-india/
Kindly support this project by spreading words to your friends and relatives too.
Thanking you
