Ensure Education for 100 Child Laborers

Dear Donors,

Share our joy on the event of the silver Jubilee completion of New Life. You have helped us generously in supporting 30 children to continue their journey of education during this proud moment. Children who were once child labourers and are now continuing their higher education were supported to the tune of $3134 (INR 210000/-).

These children’s levels of education vary from 9^th standard to Under graduation. The norm for sanction that they should have gone to regular school for at least two years is overruled for 5 of these children as their family backgrounds are very pathetic. One of them is Selvam who is 13 years old. He is an orphan and is with aunt’s family. He is being beaten up by his uncle and aunt and is forced to sleep in the bus shelter at this young age. He is now admitted to a hostel by our efforts. His education and hostel expenses is approximately $300. Out of this $150 is being borne from the donations given by you. And for the remaining $150 we mobilized a local sponsor. She assured to support him in the next year too. We are grateful to you and other donors for being kind enough to be moral parents for such children.

You will be happy and proud to know that a boy from our Kajapet special school who was mainstreamed and wrote his 10^th standard in March 2018 stood first among the other ex-child labour children in Trichy district with 75% of marks. We appreciate the special school teacher for laying a strong foundation.

Personally, I also share my joy of having received the “Community Excellence Award” on 31^st March 2018 from the Rotary Club of Diamond City Queens. It is a great honour and this is made possible only with all your continued motivation to me.
