AIM-TRUST would motivate and support the education of the children the working children in the slums .There is lot of school drop-outs among the them.They are the first generation learners.The children get a chance to get leadership & other skills at the Child Friendly Centers.we strongly believe that education is the key strategy for social change. child friendly centre is to prevent the school dropouts, create the interest among them to study and reduce the number of working children in slum.
If the children are not educated they run the risk of following the footsteps of their parents and work as coolies, loaders etc., or fall into a life of crime.Ifthe children get a chance to get leadership and other skills at the that would be useful in their lives.In this struggle the children are neglected. While some of the children are sent for work, those who do go to schools do not get any support from their parents. The unhealthy environment adds to their problems as they often fall ill.
The Goal of the project is to enhance the education of the slum children in Pallikarnai, through child friendly centers. The overall goal of the child friendly centre is to prevent the school dropouts, create the interest among the children to make them to attend the regular school and reduce the number of working children engaged in the slums.
Our Long term impact is the CFC's we envisage offering all help for the education of the children. If the children are educated, it would not only be establishing their rights to study, but will also transform the lives of the entire families and the community. This is what AIM Trust envisages accomplishing through the CFCs , because we strongly believe that education is the key strategy for social change.
