Through community empowerment and education KASO is empowering women to treat malnutrition and diseases for children living with HIV/AIDS. Help us to improve the health of 500 children in a sustainable way.
In our villages, 49% of children are suffering from prolonged malnutrition, physically stunted cognitively impaired and emotionally unstable. 34% of all deaths that occur before age five are related to malnutrition. It is well established, also, that malnourished children are less likely to respond well to anti-retroviral treatment, increasing AIDS-related mortality needlessly. KASO is raising funds to improve the health of 500 children. This project will eradicate malnutrition permanently.
This project will improve access to sustainable nutrition, improve the cash incomes of families caring for the 500 children through training in entrepreneurship, nutritional education and provision of start-up capitals for them to start their own businesses.
KASO is empowering women to alleviate poverty structurally, improve the child health permanently; over the long term and on their own. This project is helping the women to keep their children healthy, to go back and remain in school.
