During the current reporting period, the project did not receive any financial contributions, and therefore field-level implementation activities—such as the establishment of Non-Formal Education Centers and Drop-In Centers—could not yet be initiated. Despite these limitations, Good Thinkers Organization–Pakistan (GTO-Pakistan) remained actively engaged in preparatory and strategic work to ensure the project is ready for implementation once resources are mobilized.
During this period, GTO reviewed available data and past field experience related to bonded labor in brick kilns and other informal industries in Kasur, where generations of children, women, and elderly individuals remain trapped in exploitative conditions. Internal consultations focused on identifying priority communities, understanding protection gaps, and refining an implementation approach centered on education, rights awareness, and child protection.
The organization also strengthened its project framework to ensure that future interventions will not only provide basic education and life skills but also promote legal awareness, community-based child protection mechanisms, and linkages with relevant government line departments for sustainable solutions—particularly for youth and adolescents at risk.
Although no direct services were delivered during this reporting period due to funding constraints, these preparatory efforts represent an important foundation. GTO continues to seek donor and partner support to translate this planning into action and remains fully committed to breaking the intergenerational cycle of bonded labor through education and empowerment in Kasur.
