Thousands of children in Pakistan are forced to work in brick kilns, workshops, and small industries instead of going to school. Many grow up in bonded labor, where families remain trapped in poverty for generations. This project provides non-formal education, life skills, and awareness to children and families in Kasur. Through learning and support, we help children leave labor, understand their rights, and build a better future.
children are born into families working in brick kilns and other labor sectors, who start working at a very young age and never get the chance to education. Without education, they remain trapped in the same cycle as their parents. They are unaware of their rights and often face exploitation and abuse. There is little access to healthcare, education, or government support. Girls, in particular, are at higher risk, as they are often kept out of school and pushed into early responsibilities.
This project provides education and awareness directly to children and families. We establish non-formal education centers and drop-in centers where children can learn basic literacy, numeracy, and life skills. At the same time, we conduct awareness sessions for parents on child rights, education, and protection. By combining education with awareness, we help families understand the value of schooling and gradually move children away from labor.
Educated children are more confident, aware, and capable of building better lives. They are less likely to fall into bonded labor and more likely to support their families in positive ways. Over time, this project will help break the cycle of child labor and create communities where education is valued and children are protected. It will also strengthen community awareness so that families can make informed decisions and seek support when needed.
