Hunger affects as many as 783 million people worldwide. While this is a heartbreaking problem, it is also a solvable one. That's why Action Against Hunger works to save and protect lives, while creating sustainable solutions to fight hunger through the prevention, detection and treatment of undernutrition. We work in over 55 countries, aiding over 20 million people annually. Join us in our fight to create a world free from hunger, for all, for good!
Globally, one in three people suffer from some type of malnutrition. However, everyone should have access to sufficient nutritious food and be able to attain this with dignity. We know that life-threatening hunger and malnutrition have multiple causes - the main five of which are poverty, inequality, conflict, climate change and natural disasters. These areas must all be addressed in order to holistically and sustainably end world hunger.
From crisis to sustainability, we tackle the immediate, underlying and root causes of undernutrition and its effects through a multisectoral approach involving emergency response efforts, health/nutrition and WASH services, food security and livelihoods programs, as well as research and advocacy. By designing our programs with local communities, integrating them into national systems, and working with partners, we ensure that short-term interventions are translated into long-term solutions.
We are working to drive collective and inclusive action that empowers 25 million people worldwide to overcome hunger by next year.
