Dear Valued Supporters and Friends,
I am pleased to present the latest quarterly report for the Global Education Campaign (GEC), emphasizing GEC’s ongoing efforts through Dosti Welfare Organization to eradicate illiteracy in Pakistan. From January to April 2024, Dosti has successfully supported an additional 29,220 students, increasing our total beneficiaries to 414,550. Although this growth is slightly below our target due to resource constraints, it represents significant progress and highlights the ongoing need for Dosti’s unique One Room School Initiative.
GEC continues to expand its reach in the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly in challenging territories such as District Kurram, District Khyber, District Mohmand and District Okazaki. These areas, previously underserved, are now experiencing new educational opportunities through collaborations with local communities and government bodies. The use of the Dosti One Room School Starter Kits remains vital, allowing stakeholders to swiftly establish educational spaces in regions lacking traditional infrastructure. These kits are crucial for adapting to the unique challenges of remote areas, ensuring access to first time education for more children.
While GEC is proud of its achievements, it recognizes the challenges posed by inconsistent funding, which have impacted our ability to meet our full target this quarter. Our ambitious goal to end illiteracy in Pakistan requires robust support and partnerships. To reach our goal of educating 1 million students by the end of 2024, we need to enroll an additional 585,450 students in six months. Achieving this milestone will necessitate substantial resources, and we invite all individuals, communities, and organizations to join us in this noble cause. Your support is essential in extending our reach and impact, and every contribution helps us move closer to a literate, empowered Pakistan.
