Read ONLY If You Want Good News!
Patient Daysari, 3 months old
Dear Friend,
Some days we yearn for good news. I don't mean that we should ignore sadness, injustice, and dissent. More often than not, these are the very things that drive change and improve our world.
But there are also good news stories of kindness and generosity that inspire us to do better and help others. Like this one!
Dayashree was just three months old when her family brought her to Aravind because they saw a white disc in her right eye, indicating retinoblastoma (eye cancer). She needed immediate surgery and six cycles of chemotherapy that her family couldn't afford, or she could have died. Instead, she received first-class care at the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, completely free of cost.
Dayashree is one of more than 800 patients with eye cancer whose lives you changed How? By giving the gift of sight to someone halfway around the world that you don't even know.
And, if that's not good news, I don't know what is.
Warm regards, Donna
