Challenge

Child marriage, domestic violence, substance abuse are some of the prevalent malpractices of this area. The girls are also vulnerable to many taboos and often face restrictions on their mobility. Lack of appropriate playground, safe space, lack of professional sports trainers willing to work in the community acts as some of the challenges of the project.

Solution

Our organisation is making efforts to benefit at-least 60 girls participants and 6 girls identified and trained to continue the support in future making Peer Leaders. The direct girls beneficiaries who are interested participating in the project that includes Karate-classes with participatory discussions on financial literacy, sexual reproductive health, effective communication, leadership & goal-setting. Indirect beneficiaries includes families, not yet age eligible girls & community at large.

Long-Term Impact

With the help of adequate funding and resource we expect to mobilize 100 girls. At least 60 girls are expected to be identified and enrolled for training on life skills and at least 6 peer leaders are to be identified. Adolescent girls would also be able to acquire knowledge on financial literacy, reproductive health and hygiene, effective communication skills, self-respect, environment and self-defense and be aware of their own skills and ability and build on greater confidence and resilience.
