Hope for Orphans and Physically Challenged in Liberia is a project that seeks to provide academic scholarships, life skills training, and the basic needs of at least 100 orphans in Liberia annually. Our project will reduce illiteracy, improve children's well-being and help them realize their full potentials.
While several kids in urban Liberia are educated and well fed, orphans in rural Liberia are vulnerable to illiteracy, hunger and poor health care. A few are engaged in child marriages and early sex to make ends meet. This is because relevant programs for rural orphans are not decentralized and 90% of non-profit organizations operate in urban communities. This negatively affects their overall well-being and future and prevent them from acquiring quality education and their full potentials.
By providing academic scholarships, life skills training, and the basic needs of orphans, our project (Orphan Outreach) will reduce illiteracy and improve children's well-being. It will support children in gaining quality education at nearby schools and provide basic needs such as school materials, food and clothes. As the recipient of the United Nations Volunteers 'Diversity, Inclusion, and Social Protection Award' (2023), LYFT Africa is committed to impacting the vulnerable population.
Orphan Outreach project will reduce the illiteracy rate among children in rural communities and break the circle of poverty. It will improve their wellbeing, strengthen Human capital and enhance sustainable community development. Through our project, hope will be restored to broken lives and orphans will realize their full potential and a brighter future.
