A journey that started 8 years ago in 2015, came to fruition on 10th November, 2023 with the launch of the Girls Empowerment Centre. The centre is a one-stop facility that houses a vocational training centre (offering courses on hairdressing, fashion & design, beauty therapy and computer studies), a gender-based violence survivor’s rescue centre, a day care centre, an employment bureau, a bridge centre as well as being NIGEE’s head office.
Though not complete, the vocational training centre, the rescue centre and the day care have been operational since 2021. The centre’s completion now paves way for us to start the bridge centre and the employment bureau.
