Empowering 50 women entrepreneurs to beat poverty

By Sumedha Sharma | Project Leader

Dear Global Givers,

Your past donations have been the cornerstone of numerous success stories, and it is a pleasure to share the latest developments from our initiatives, especially the transformative journey witnessed in Hathki village, and beyond.

Recently, Hathki village has seen a commendable change with two of its women, among many, participating in a three-day training program organized by Sakhi Unique Rural Enterprises (SURE).

This training has been beneficial in providing new opportunities for these hardworking women. Post-training, we have observed a remarkable change.

One of these women, Runa Devi (name changed), is a proud owner of a confectionery shop where she sells items like, but not pertaining to, jewellery, makeup items, and sanitary napkins. As a member of the Self Help Group (SHG), she no longer feels the need to depend on her family for financial assistance; instead, she contributes to her family's income, showcasing a complete reversal of roles that echoes the essence of empowerment.

Furthermore, Meena Kumar (name changed) from the same village has been instrumental as a mobilizer in the SHG. Her role has been pivotal in encouraging participation and in the practical implementation of the skills learned from the training.

Similarly, in the village of Jaisinghpura, another ambitious woman has opened a 'Kirane ki dukan' (grocery shop). This endeavor not only aids her household financially but also enriches the community with easy access to essential goods.

As we continue to expand our reach and impact, your support remains invaluable. We look forward to your continued partnership in creating a world where women lead their lives independently and are at the forefront of making changes.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Team iPartner India
