Empowering Young Women Through Skills Training

This project was implemented to empower young women and girls in Ibadan through practical skills training in tailoring, hairdressing, digital literacy, and small business development. Participants received starter packages including fabrics, salon kits, and micro-grants to help them begin income-generating activities and reduce vulnerability.

The intervention also provided mentoring, business coaching, and life skills education to strengthen confidence, resilience, and long-term independence. Community leaders and donors played a vital role in supporting outreach, beneficiary selection, and monitoring of project impact. As a result, many beneficiaries have started small enterprises and demonstrated improved household income and self-reliance. The project has created a strong foundation for sustainable empowerment, but continued donor support is essential to scale impact across more communities in Ibadan and surrounding areas.

We therefore appeal to development partners, philanthropic organizations, and individuals of goodwill to increase their contributions toward expanding skills acquisition, providing more starter kits, and reaching additional vulnerable young women who are eager to transform their lives through economic independence. With sustained funding, this initiative will continue to reduce poverty, strengthen livelihoods, and promote gender equality, ensuring that no young woman is left behind in the journey toward self-reliance and dignity.
