This project aims to enhance the livelihoods and socio-economic status of underprivileged young women and girls through comprehensive skills training and outreach programs. This initiative focuses on equipping individuals with practical skills that are in demand in the local job market, fostering self-employment and promoting community development.
Challenge Many communities within Nigeria face high level unemployment and underemployment, which is as a result of limited access to quality education therefore prevent the community members from acquiring the necessary skills for gainful employment. This has affected the livelihoods and socio-economic status of underprivileged communities cause. Therefore in desperation it has led to higher crime rates as many individuals especially the youths resort to illegal activities.
We will provide practical vocational training to 500 individuals in the business areas such as tailoring, catering, pastry, hat making and bag making. Facilitate workshops financial literacy, entrepreneurship and business management. Conduct outreach programs to raise awareness about the important of skill development. Establish a support for trainees including mentorship, access to microloans, and ongoing skills development resources.
Skill training will enhance employ-ability and productivity, leading to better job opportunities and increase income. This will contributes to overall economic stability of the community. It will provide individuals with marketable skills, they can secure better-paying jobs or start their own businesses, reducing the poverty levels within the community. Skills training and outreach will foster a sense of empowerment and self-reliance among community members.
