We run menstrual workshops to educate women on eco-friendly products, reproductive system/health, and the environmental and health harm of single-use pads/tampons. Each participant receives a menstrual cup with instructions for safe use and care, plus access to sterilization electric pots in schools. We provide ongoing support through WhatsApp and Instagram, creating a safe space for questions. Our program empowers women, reduces waste, and promotes long-term menstrual health and sustainability.
In Guatemala, many women and girls face barriers to safe and dignified menstrual care. Disposable pads are costly, often forcing families to choose between basic needs and hygiene. This leads to school absenteeism, health risks, and increased waste. Our menstrual cup campaign provides a long-lasting, eco-friendly solution that replaces thousands of pads per person, reducing costs and environmental harm. 96% of bodies of water are completely polluted in Guatemala due to bad waste management.
Our program has provided more than 400 cups by now, they last up to 10 years, removing the high cost of disposable pads and preventing millions of non recyclable waste to pollute the rivers, lakes and streets. Together, we reduce school absenteeism, waste, and stigma-empowering women with dignity and sustainability.
For 10 years girls will no longer have to miss school because of their periods. Instead of struggling to afford disposable pads, women will save that money for ten years. Women will enjoy better health, free from infections and allergies caused by poor menstrual hygiene, and communities will generate less waste by replacing thousands of pads with a single reusable cup. Most importantly, the silence and stigma around menstruation will fade, replaced by safe spaces we create.
