Building Inclusive Communities: Uniting Girls, boys and Stakeholders
As part of activities to commemorate the International Women's Day, Girls' Power Initiative hosted an engaging event for girls and boys aged 10-24 years at St. Peter secondary school, Ikot Offiong Ambia, Akpabuyo Local Government Area, with the theme "Accelerate Action for Change". The activity also aimed to promote inclusion, drive change, and raise awareness about the issues that affect human rights especially women's right. The activity held on the 9th of March 2025 at GPI Safe Space Center in Akpabuyo.
Highlights of the event include
1. Drama Presentation by the girls depicting the importance of educating the girl child.
2. Quiz Competition
3. Experience Sharing on impact of the safe space sessions and other fun activities by the beneficiaries
The event which recorded a successful turnout of parent, guardians and young persons was able to foster a sense of community inclusion, and empowerment among the participants.
Girls' Power Initiative (GPI) remains committed to creating safe spaces for young girls and boys to access support, guidance, and resources for an empowered livelihood.
