In the Women's Empowerment Program, we provide 3 to 6 month skills training for vulnerable young women, helping them secure jobs or start a micro-business. Since 2022, 193 women have been trained, and 22 have successfully launched their own micro-businesses. In March 2025, we will inaugurate a new Training Center, which will enable us to train more women (170 annually) in more modern topics (such as IT classes) and offer more professional programs, with certified trainings.
In Asia, more than 150 million women are missing. Nepal is a country facing widespread poverty, where young women and girls are particularly at risk, dealing with issues such as abuse, violence, and human trafficking. Many men leave the country to work abroad due to limited job opportunities, making the situation even more challenging for young mothers. Since May 2019, we've partnered with Opportunity Village Nepal (OVN), a local NGO to support and protect vulnerable women.
We provide 3 to 6 months training programs in IT, tailoring, and beauty parlor skills for vulnerable young women, helping them secure jobs or earn income to support themselves and their children, reducing the risk of falling into prostitution. For those starting micro-businesses, we provide one year of coaching and financial aid. In March 2025, our new Training Center will enable us to train 170 women annually, focusing on modern topics like IT and certified professional programs.
The main long-term impact is to empower vulnerable women to achieve autonomy, while creating a positive ripple effect on their children, families, and communities. Since 2022, we have trained 193 women, with 22 successfully launching sustainable micro-enterprises. Moving forward, we aim to train 170 women annually through our new Training Center and provide enhanced post-training support to help them secure jobs or start their own micro-businesses.
