Quarterly Report: Donate To Educate 300 Ugandan Needy Children
### Impact Assessment
In this quarter, PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) made significant strides in fulfilling its mission to support underprivileged children in Uganda through the Donate To Educate project. One of our proudest achievements was providing school fees for two terms to one of the needy girls, ensuring her continued access to education. She was nearly failing to register for senior four Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) after her mom fell sick and bed ridden over spinal cord complication.
Additionally, we distributed essential scholastic materials to 128 children, empowering them to engage more effectively in their studies.
The impact of our interventions cannot be overstated. By supporting her and other vulnerable children, we are not just providing access to education but also offering them hope for a brighter future. Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, and each child we support brings us one step closer to creating a more equitable society in Uganda.
We also conducted 2 radio talkshows to sensitize and educate the parents on the rights of children and their entitlement to basic needs.
### Challenges
While we celebrate our accomplishments, we also acknowledge the challenges we face. Despite our dedicated efforts, the Donate To Educate project has not attracted as many donors on GlobalGiving as we had hoped. As a result, the fundraiser has only received $218 in contributions so far.
The lack of donor participation presents a significant obstacle to our mission. Without adequate funding, we are limited in our ability to reach more children and expand our impact. However, we remain optimistic and grateful for the generosity of all our donors and supporters. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference in the lives of the children we serve.
